Benchmark Star is a small company focused on energy compliance management. Cities across the country now require buildings to report their energy usage and meet performance standards. Every city has its own deadlines, requirements, and fines, which makes compliance hard to track across a large property portfolio. I joined Benchmark Star in 2026 as a Senior Software Engineer.

This role is where I started working with agentic engineering. I use AI coding agents daily to develop our building performance management tools. I designed and built a portfolio-wide compliance dashboard. It surfaces past-due deadlines and projected fine exposure across all of a customer's managed properties. This gives property managers one place to see what needs attention and what it will cost to ignore. I project manage software development for the company website and related services. Currently working with clients directly to understand and iterate on our product offerings to better suit a variety of use cases.
